Back in the 70's and 80's there was a Fram filter commercial: "You can pay me now, or you can pay him later" - the other guy was a motor rebuilder. Just like a car, your scooter has a small motor in it- and while electric motors are generally trouble free, there are a few easy and simple things you can and should do to keep you scooter running at peak efficiency.
Here are a few quick Scooter maintenance tips:
- Top off the battery. Make sure you keep the battery topped off by charging it regularly, even if you are not actively using it.
- You should avoid riding in the rain. Even with quality products such as the Electric Scooter Factory scooters- which all have no exposed wiring or cables- they are not meant to be immersed in puddles of water. They are water resistant, not water proof.
- Keep it clean. All machines work best when free of excess dirt and grime.
- Inspect the wheels and moving parts regularly. If something is not rolling or folding smoothly, make sure it is clean first, and then give the surface a shot of silicone spray oil- which does not attract dust or dirt.
This is just a short list of quick maintenance tips for your scooter, if you find your electric scooter is not performing as well as expected- contact us for expert parts and advice here at the Electric Scooter Factory
